Gia Lai, Ca Mau, and Vinh Long are three localities nationwide that organize admission to public grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year through the selection process.
As of March 3, 63 provinces and cities have announced the 10th grade entrance exam plan for the 2025-2026 school year. In addition to the two compulsory subjects: literature and math, most provinces and cities choose the third subject: English. Only Ha Giang and Binh Thuan choose history and geography.

The 10th grade exam for the 2025-2026 school year is the first year of enrollment under the new general education program.
