Circular 30 of the Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that the 10th grade admission score is the total score of the subjects and exams, calculated on a 10-point scale.
According to Circular No. 30/2024/TT-BGDDT on regulations on secondary and high school admissions recently issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, the admission score for grade 10 is the total score of the subjects and exams calculated on a 10-point scale for each subject and exam.
In previous years, the regulations for middle school and high school admissions did not have a unified way of calculating admission scores, so each locality had a different way of calculating the exam coefficient. Among them, some localities used a coefficient of 2 for math and literature.
Also according to the new regulations, there are 3 methods of admission to grade 10, including: entrance exam, selection or a combination of entrance exam and selection. The selection of the admission method is under the authority of the locality.
Regarding the examination method, to ensure consistency and ensure the viewpoint of a light and inexpensive exam, the Circular generally stipulates the implementation of 3 subjects and exams, including: math, literature and a third subject or exam selected by the Department of Education and Training.
The notable new point is that the same third exam subject cannot be chosen for more than 3 consecutive years, starting from the date this circular takes effect.
