The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs requested localities to report on the situation of wages and bonuses and implement solutions to prevent and minimize labor disputes and strikes during the year-end and Tet holidays.
The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has just issued an official dispatch requesting leaders of the Departments of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of provinces and cities to proactively grasp the situation of salaries and bonuses for employees, especially during the New Year and Lunar New Year in 2025.
In particular, the Ministry noted that Directors of the Departments of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs must proactively coordinate with the Management Boards of industrial parks, economic zones, export processing zones, the Provincial Federation of Labor and relevant agencies to monitor and grasp the production, business situation and workers' lives in enterprises.
Provinces must proactively take solutions to ensure the balance between labor supply and demand to meet the requirements of the market, businesses, and employers, ensuring jobs for workers in the area.
During the year-end and Tet holidays, localities monitor and grasp the situation of labor relations and strengthen the implementation of support solutions, promote the building of harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in local enterprises.
The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs recommends that localities must implement solutions to prevent and minimize labor disputes and strikes that may arise in the area before, during and after the New Year and Lunar New Year in 2025. Coordinate promptly with relevant agencies to support the parties in dialogue, negotiation and early agreement to resolve labor disputes and strikes that arise, not allowing them to prolong and spread among enterprises.
The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs also requested the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the provinces to request local enterprises to coordinate and discuss with grassroots trade unions to review labor contracts, collective labor agreements, salary regulations, and bonus regulations; thereby implementing salary and bonus regimes for employees according to the agreed content.
In addition, businesses must develop a bonus plan based on 2024 production and business results according to Article 104 of the Labor Code and notify employees in the business.
The Ministry requested the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of provinces and cities to preside over and coordinate with the Management Board of industrial parks, economic zones, and export processing zones to survey and grasp the situation of wages and unpaid wages in 2024; bonus plans based on production and business results and the situation of labor relations in enterprises on the occasion of New Year and Lunar New Year 2025, synthesize data and send it to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs before December 15.
