Mr. Huynh Ngoc Thanh, Director of Lam Dong II Hospital, was accused of violations in bidding for medical supplies, causing great damage to the budget.
On February 18, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Thanh, Director of Lam Dong II Hospital, was temporarily detained by Lam Dong Provincial Police to investigate violations related to a bidding project and procurement of medical equipment and supplies at the hospital.
In connection with the case, Mr. Tran Van Thanh, Head of the Supplies Department, was also temporarily detained.
According to initial information, both were investigated for violations in the bidding project to purchase a CT-Scanner 64 system worth tens of billions of VND in October 2023.
On the evening of February 17, Lam Dong police coordinated with the same-level Procuracy to search the homes and workplaces of the two suspects. After many hours of work, the authorities seized many documents to serve the investigation of the case.
Previously, in August 2022, Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee disciplined the Director of Lam Dong II Hospital and many collectives and individuals with a reprimand for violations in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic and bidding and purchasing medical equipment and related medical supplies.
Lam Dong Police are expanding the investigation into the individuals involved.
