Phuong Quynh Anh, in charge of picking up and dropping off children at Hong Nhung Kindergarten (Thai Binh), was arrested in the case of a boy who died in a car.
This is the first person arrested after Thai Binh City Police initiated a case of involuntary manslaughter related to the death of GH, 5 years old.
According to the police, Quynh Anh was assigned by Hong Nhung Kindergarten, Campus 2, to pick up and drop off students from home to school in a 29-seat car.
At 6:20 a.m. on May 29, Quynh Anh and driver Nguyen Van Lam went to pick up H. to school. When they got in the car, H. sat in the back seat, conscious. At 5:30 p.m. the same day, H. came to pick up the child but could not find him. Later, everyone discovered that H. was still in the car.
According to the police, H. was in the car for 11 hours, under the hot sun, with no food in his stomach, so he became exhausted and suffered respiratory failure.
Hong Nhung 2 Kindergarten is a private institution, established in 2022, with 12 classes and 272 children. The school has a student attendance system via software installed on parents' phones. When a child is absent, the teachers will send information via the software and call the parents. However, when H. did not attend class, the family did not receive any calls from the teachers.
On the day of the incident, the school held a summary of the 2023-2024 school year.
