On July 1, a representative of the People's Procuracy of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that this agency has approved the orders to prosecute and temporarily detain the director and inspector of Inspection Center 72-03D.
Accordingly, the People's Procuracy of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has approved the decisions to prosecute and arrest warrants of the Investigation Police Agency of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province Police (PC03) against Nguyen Hoa Quat (born in 1982) and Bui Chien Thang (born in 1988).
These two people are respectively the director of the 72-03D Motor Vehicle Inspection Center of a private company and the inspector of this center.
Center 72-03D has an inspection facility in Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
These two people were arrested to investigate the crime of "receiving bribes" under the provisions of Article 354 of the Penal Code. The police investigation agency has completed the legal procedures and temporarily detained the above-mentioned suspects.
Inside Inspection Center 72-03D
Initial investigation results determined that from 2019 to early 2023, Nguyen Hoa Quat and Bui Chien Thang had repeatedly agreed directly or through intermediaries to receive money from vehicle owners for 68 transport vehicle records.
These vehicles have been renovated and converted to remove errors and shortcomings and to issue technical safety certificates for these vehicles as prescribed.
The total amount of money that Nguyen Hoa Quat and Bui Chien Thang received was more than 700 million VND.
The case is currently under further investigation, focusing on the actions of other subjects in receiving, giving and brokering bribes.
