Currently, Gia Loc District Medical Center (Hai Duong) can only meet the dialysis needs of 60 patients, while 40 other patients have registered but have not been able to receive dialysis.
Hemodialysis patients at Gia Loc District Medical Center
On April 3, Gia Loc District Medical Center put into use a new 2-storey hemodialysis area with a total area of 900 m2.2. This project was invested by the district with nearly 13 billion VND, replacing the old cramped and degraded dialysis area. This new building can operate 40 dialysis machines at the same time.
Implementing artificial kidney dialysis technology since 2015, Gia Loc District Medical Center is still operating 10 kidney dialysis machines. With 3 shifts/day and patients having kidney dialysis once every 2 days, the above machines can only serve 60 patients.
According to the District Health Center, the number of patients requiring hemodialysis who have registered at the center has been increasing recently. In addition to 60 old patients, there are 40 new patients waiting for dialysis. The District Health Center has sent staff to train in hemodialysis techniques and has proposed to the province to soon invest in 5 more dialysis machines to accommodate patients.
