By 2025, Hai Duong strives to successfully treat 90% of tuberculosis cases, moving towards ending tuberculosis.
On the morning of March 20, Hai Duong Lung Hospital organized a rally in response to World Tuberculosis Day (March 24).
Attending the rally were 250 medical staff, patients, relatives of patients being treated at the Lung Hospital and students of Hai Duong University of Medical Technology.
The theme of TB prevention in 2025 is “Vietnam commits, invests, and acts to end TB”. This year, Hai Duong sets 6 targets in TB prevention and treatment. These are: maintaining the TB prevention network from the provincial to grassroots levels; 100% of the population is protected by the TB prevention program; detecting 1,200 cases of all types of TB; the TB treatment success rate reaches 90%; admitting and treating 43 patients with drug-resistant TB; the successful treatment rate of drug-resistant TB reaches 78%.
In 2024, Hai Duong medical facilities screened, detected and managed 1,106 cases of tuberculosis with a treatment success rate of nearly 90%. Of these, 25 patients had drug-resistant tuberculosis.
