Shooter Thu Vinh burst into tears and apologized to fans nationwide.

Shooter Trinh Thu Vinh burst into tears while talking to reporters at the Chateauroux shooting range after the final of the women's 25m pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics ended with an unexpected result.

The female shooter explained that she called her parents right after finishing the exam and at that time she cried because of regret and sadness, so when she heard the reporter's question, she couldn't hold back her tears.

Thu Vinh knew very well what was expected of her in the two final events that she participated in at the Olympics for the first time in her life, so when she could not win a medal in both of these final series, Thu Vinh felt both sad and extremely guilty.

Through reporters, Thu Vinh sent an apology to fans nationwide.

Thu Vinh's opponents all have extremely impressive achievements such as world champion, Olympic champion, continental champion or being in the top 10, or top 5 or top 3 in the world. Therefore, it is completely normal that she cannot surpass them.

In addition, due to excessive training to prepare for the second competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the 25m sport pistol, after narrowly missing the medal in the 10m air pistol, Thu Vinh suffered a serious injury to her right shoulder.

Right before the final round, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese shooting team had to help Thu Vinh with her injury treatment but still could not help her fully recover.

Thu Vinh is still full of determination as she looks forward to the road ahead. She confided: “I don’t think that being able to participate in two finals at my first Olympics is a commendable achievement for me personally, because if I thought like that, if I was satisfied with my results, I wouldn’t be able to progress any further.”
