Despite not winning a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Trinh Thu Vinh still received a bonus

On the afternoon of August 2, President of the Vietnam Shooting Federation Do Van Binh decided to give Thu Vinh a bonus of 100 million VND after she won the right to enter the final round of the women's 25-meter air pistol event. At the same time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung - former head coach of the Vietnam shooting team also awarded Thu Vinh 1,000 USD (equivalent to 25 million VND).

After reaching the finals of 2 events, Thu Vinh received a total of 150 million VND in bonuses even though she has not won a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Previously, this shooter was awarded 1,000 USD by Ms. Nhung herself when she reached the finals of the women's 10-meter air pistol event.

She finished 4th in this event and missed the precious opportunity to win the first medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at this year's Olympics. On the afternoon of August 2, Thu Vinh continued to participate in the qualifying round of the women's 25-meter air pistol event.

After finishing 12th in the slow-fire competition, Trinh Thu Vinh made a spectacular breakthrough with 30 quick shots to rise to fourth place overall. This achievement helped the Vietnamese shooter qualify for the final of the women's 25m pistol individual event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Moving on to the rapid fire event, the athlete from Thanh Hoa continued to shine. Trinh Thu Vinh shot 15 consecutive 10-point shots. In the next two rapid fire rounds, Thu Vinh maintained her impressive scores, reaching 98 and 99 points respectively.

After 60 shots, Thu Vinh achieved an average score of 9.783 points, hitting the bull's eye 25 times, just behind Veronika Major (Hungary) - the shooter who just equaled the Olympic qualifying total score record in this event. In the end, Trinh Thu Vinh ranked fourth and qualified for the finals.
