Journalist Le Quoc Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, assessed the meeting as a meaningful event when the Vietnamese revolutionary press is aiming to celebrate its 100th anniversary; an opportunity to honor, recognize and commend the contributions of press agencies and journalists. He expressed his impression that despite the domestic and international situation facing many difficulties and challenges, Hai Duong province still shows rapid and sustainable development. This achievement cannot be achieved without mentioning the positive and responsible contributions of the press. Comrade Le Quoc Minh was pleased to see that press agencies in Hai Duong are making important strides in professional activities, making timely changes on the path of digital transformation to keep up with the trends of contemporary journalism.

Affirming that local press agencies are the backbone of the Vietnamese revolutionary press system, he suggested that local press agencies must actively promote digital transformation strategies to keep up with the trend. Readers and audiences are strongly "migrating" from reading newspapers, listening to the radio, watching television to enjoying information on digital platforms. To survive and develop, there is no other way but for the press to be present on these platforms. Wherever readers and audiences are, the press must be present there. Digital transformation in the press is not simply about equipping a modern machinery system, having a website, taking advantage of social networks to post information, but more importantly, it is necessary to innovate the thinking from leaders to each employee in the agency. Hai Duong's press agencies need to pay attention to training new journalism skills for cadres and employees; actively and boldly apply artificial intelligence technology in professional activities but must have a way to exploit it and not depend on this technology.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh affirmed that in the future, the Vietnam Journalists Association will continue to have activities to support training and professional training for local press agencies.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Tran Duc Thang, Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, affirmed that over the past 100 years, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has made great contributions to the cause of national liberation and unification as well as to the cause of innovation, industrialization and modernization today. Hai Duong press has made an important contribution to the cause of innovation, integration, raising the position of the province, making society healthy and stable, bringing a rich spiritual life to cadres and people.

Under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the press and the team of journalists of Hai Duong province have focused on and closely followed the task of propagating the directives and resolutions of the Party, the policies and laws of the State; the guidelines, mechanisms and policies of local Party committees and authorities, clearly demonstrating the function of being an essential means of information in social life, being the mouthpiece of the Party Committee, the government, socio-political organizations, mass organizations in the province, being a forum for the people, actively contributing to enhancing the leadership role of the Party, the management effectiveness of the government; orienting ideology and public opinion; conducting criticism, contributing to the democratization of social life, maintaining political stability, security and order in the area.

The Provincial Party Secretary was pleased that the Hai Duong press team was increasingly proactive in studying and training in terms of political qualities, professional ethics, and expertise. The press works have encouraged the spirit of emulation and creative labor, promoted the strength of the entire people; promptly commended and encouraged typical collectives and individuals, good people and good deeds, new factors in all sectors and professions; resolutely fought against corruption and negativity, criticized bad habits, warned against social evils, received public sympathy and support, created trust in justice, public opinion...

The 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day takes place at the same time as the 83rd anniversary of the founding of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee; Party committees from the province to the grassroots level are conducting a mid-term review for the 2020-2025 term. In the middle of the implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels, despite many difficulties and challenges, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the efforts of Party committees and authorities from the province to the grassroots level, and the solidarity of the people and the business community, Hai Duong has continued to overcome difficulties and achieved many encouraging results. This result cannot be achieved without the team of journalists who have always stood shoulder to shoulder with Party committees and authorities at all levels. Every step of the province in recent times has been fully and vividly reflected by Hai Duong press and the press nationwide through specific and profound works, both spreading, encouraging and motivating, and suggesting and offering advice to help the provincial leaders gain more confidence and move forward steadily.

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang acknowledged and commended the efforts of the Provincial Journalists Association in recent times. He believed that at the upcoming Provincial Journalists Association Congress, the association will build a team of enthusiastic, responsible, creative, and innovative cadres who are capable of implementing the Party's policies and resolutions, the Press Law, resolutions, and regulations of the Vietnam Journalists Association. He requested the association to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's directives and resolutions on press and media work; concretize them into practical and effective action programs to continuously improve the role and quality of the association's activities in the new period; focus on innovating activities in the spirit of building a professional, humane, and modern press and media, focusing on improving the quality and effectiveness of press activities; create a cultural space and environment in press activities, build a strong organization, meeting the requirements in the new situation.

At the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Quy Trong, Editor-in-Chief of Hai Duong Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, delivered a speech commemorating the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. Along with the press nationwide, up to now, the provincial press has made great strides in development, gradually integrating with the general development trend of the times, creating an appearance with its own unique characteristics. The Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association has had many useful activities, contributing to improving the professional qualifications and ethics of the press team, and is a common home for journalists in Dong province. The Hai Duong press team is always absolutely loyal to the Party, wholeheartedly serving the people, responsibly accompanying the homeland through each historical period, constantly overcoming difficulties to fulfill the assigned tasks.

At the meeting, the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association awarded the 2022 Provincial Journalists Association Press Award. The award had 76 works by authors and groups of authors participating, including 20 print works, 44 television works and 12 electronic press works. The Organizing Committee awarded 2 A prizes, 3 B prizes, 5 C prizes and 10 consolation prizes. Two A prizes were awarded to the series of articles reflecting on "Closing loopholes in land policies" by journalist Pham Sy Thang (Hai Duong Newspaper) and the reportage "Rivers" Thai Binh River by the group of authors Nguyen Phuong Thao and Nguyen Duc Hoan (Hai Duong Radio - Television Station).

Vietnam Journalists Association awarded commemorative medals for the cause of Vietnamese journalism to 9 members of Hai Duong Journalists Association; Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association announced the decision to recognize 24 new members; awarded certificates of merit to 4 groups and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in professional and association work in 2022.
