Ford Thailand has just announced the high-end Platinum version running V6 engine of the new Ford Everest.
The Ford Everest V6 Platinum will be the highest-end version of the regular Everest lineup, replacing the Platinum+ version using the old 2.0L twin-turbo engine.
Ford Thailand has confirmed that it will introduce the V6 Platinum version to customers in the country in March 2024. This addition is said to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the new Everest's launch in Thailand.
Information about the equipment of this version is still quite limited. The temporary branch above only shows that compared to the regular Platinum version, the V6 version uses 21-inch alloy wheels as standard. This is the largest premium wheel size before. The interior of this version is also equipped with a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen system.
Of course, the biggest change between the Ford Everest V6 Platinum configuration and the regular Platinum version is the engine. The V6 Platinum version uses a 3.0L V6 turbocharged diesel engine for a maximum capacity of 250 horsepower, 600Nm of torque. The accompanying transmission is a 10-speed automatic SelectShift with 2-wheel drive.
The new Ford Everest has been available in Southeast Asia for nearly 2 years, but many regions still lack high-end configurations, including Vietnam.
Aside from the engine, the rest of the Ford Everest V6 Platinum is top-of-the-line equipment, along with some unique Platinum design touches. For example, this version uses a chrome-plated grille, along with mirrors, handles, and door sills plated with the same material.
The interior of the car uses a large 12-inch vertical screen with high-quality materials and sophisticated finishing details around. The center console has a wireless phone charger, leather-wrapped gearshift lever and electronic handbrake.
The premium leather front seats are heated and ventilated, with 10-way power adjustment. The side seats are 8-way power adjustable, while the second row seats are heated and fold 60:40 to help users easily get in and out of the third row. This version also has an airbag between the two front seats to prevent people sitting here from hitting their heads when the car is in a side collision.
In Vietnam, Ford Everest only has 2 engine options: 2.0L single or twin turbocharger and the Platinum version is no exception. Will the appearance of V6 Platinum in Thailand pave the way for this version to come to Vietnam?
