According to a private source of Hai Duong Newspaper, the number of students in Hai Duong City registering for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year at Nguyen Van Cu High School is the highest among public high schools in the city.

This year, Hai Duong City has 5,186 students graduating from junior high school. There are 3,149 students registered to take the entrance exam to Hong Quang, Nguyen Van Cu, Nguyen Du high schools and some public high schools in neighboring districts. The 5 junior high schools with the largest number of candidates registering to take the entrance exam to grade 10 of public high schools are: Tan Binh, Ngoc Chau, Binh Minh, Ngo Gia Tu, Binh Han.
Nguyen Van Cu High School has 1,077 candidates registered for the exam (enrollment quota of 672); Hong Quang High School has 636 students registered for the exam (enrollment quota of 504); Nguyen Du High School has 549 students registered for the exam (enrollment quota of 336). There are 887 candidates registered for the exam at public high schools in neighboring districts of Hai Duong City.
Thus, this year there is expected to be a big change in the "competition" ratio of Nguyen Du High School and Nguyen Van Cu High School. Last year, the competition ratio for grade 10 (first choice) at Nguyen Du High School was the highest in the province at 1 to 2.6 (874 students registered, 336 students were accepted); Nguyen Van Cu High School was 1 to 1.2 (824/672).
In addition, 450 candidates from Hai Duong City registered to take the entrance exam to Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted.
The above figures do not include candidates from other localities outside Hai Duong City who also registered to take the entrance exam to public high schools in the city. Currently, the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong has not announced it, so it is not possible to know the exact number of candidates registering to take the entrance exam to public high schools in Hai Duong City.
Also according to private sources, this year, Hai Duong City has 1,126 students registering for admission to non-public high schools; 579 students registering for admission to vocational schools; 35 students are eligible for direct admission.
