Since the school was founded in 1984, in the 2014-2015 school year, the school was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal from the President. Over the past 10 years, the school's national excellent student exam results have always been in the top position nationwide, with 4 years having students winning regional and international prizes. In the last 2 school years, the rate of excellent and good students reached over 99.7%; 100% of high school graduates were admitted to universities... At the end of 2023, the People's Council of Hai Duong province issued a Resolution stipulating policies for managers, teachers of Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted and experts participating in training national, regional and international excellent student teams.
