The leader of the Ministry of Planning and Investment said that the National Innovation Center (NIC) at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park will be put into operation from October, after two years of construction.
The information was announced by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong on the morning of August 15. The inauguration ceremony of NIC will take place within the framework of the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023 (VIIE 2023) from October 28 to November 1.
Leaders of the Ministry of Planning and Investment said that the infrastructure for building the center has been basically completed, meeting the conditions to carry out exhibitions, display technology products, and networking seminars.
The center, with a working floor area of nearly 20,000 m2, focuses on innovation activities, seminars, forums, creating research and development space, promoting exchanges and connections, and boosting technology transfer. "This is a place to incubate and support dozens of potential startups, technology enterprises, and partners in the innovation ecosystem," said Deputy Minister Dong.

During the inauguration, the Center will display and introduce new products and technologies in areas such as Smart Factory, Smart City, Digital Media, Environmental Technology, Cyber Security, Semiconductor Industry, Hydrogen and Healthcare. International seminars will focus on discussing the semiconductor industry, hydrogen energy, gaming industry... to share ideas, innovative products, create connections, exchange and expand opportunities for cooperation, research and investment.
Nearly 300 leading domestic and international technology enterprises are expected to participate, "bringing modern, highly applicable technology products and services that are of interest to millions of technology consumers," said Deputy Minister Dong.
He added that during the 5 days of the exhibition, there will also be technology demonstrations, a forum for the Vietnam Startup Investment Fund (VVS); a STEAM festival for students, and a Better Choice awards concert.
