Organizing drug use, 3 subjects in Ninh Giang were sentenced to a total of 25 years in prison

Regarding drugs, all 3 subjects from Tan Huong commune, Ninh Giang district (Hai Duong) were sentenced to a total of 25 years in prison.

On the morning of October 29, the People's Court of Ninh Giang district tried three subjects including Nguyen Van Kien, born in 1989 in Ve village, Dong Tam commune; Ngo Van Hanh, born in 1998, in village 1 and Nguyen Van Phu, born in 1993, in village 6, Tan Huong commune (Ninh Giang, Hai Duong) for the crime of organizing the use and possession of drugs.

Previously, at around 10:00 p.m. on March 5, 2024, on Tran Hung Dao Street in Zone 3, Ninh Giang Town, the authorities caught Kien red-handed illegally hiding 0.213 grams of methamphetamine for use.

The extended investigation showed that at noon on March 5, Ngo Van Hanh (who had 2 previous convictions) gave 2.2 million VND to Kien and then went with Kien to buy drugs to use.

At around 3:00 p.m. on March 5, at Kien's rented room, Nguyen Van Phu made drug-using tools, which were then used by the three of them, Kien, Hanh, and Phu. On the evening of March 5, Hanh and Kien continued to use the remaining drugs together.

At the trial, the defendants admitted their crimes. The jury sentenced Nguyen Van Kien to 8 years in prison for organizing illegal drug use and 1 year and 3 months in prison for illegal drug possession, totaling 9 years and 3 months in prison.

Ngo Van Hanh was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison and Nguyen Van Phu was sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in prison for organizing illegal drug use.
