Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai chaired a meeting with a number of mass organizations.

Currently, there are 30 mass associations assigned tasks by the Party and the State at the Central level; 27/30 associations have party organizations with nearly 2,300 party members; 10 associations have party delegations established by the Secretariat. The associations basically adhere to the functions and tasks of gathering and uniting members to actively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws in the association's field of operation; well perform assigned tasks; at the same time perform the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of members; contribute to consolidating, building and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, realizing the goal of building and developing the country.

In the first 6 months of the year, the associations have actively participated in contributing opinions on the development and implementation of the Party and State's policies and laws, especially those related to the association; reviewed, supplemented and amended the regulations and rules of the Party Delegation, the collective leadership and the Central agency of the Association to consolidate and improve the quality of the association's organization and operation. Strengthened coordination with sectors and localities to expand and improve the quality of association, cooperation, consulting, support and service provision activities; participated in national target programs and socio-economic development projects; actively mobilized social resources to support association activities and implement social security programs, pay attention to supporting and helping members...

However, the institutionalization and concretization of the Party's policies on associations are still slow; the assignment of staff, budget, regimes and policies for association organizations and association workers are still inadequate. A few associations still face difficulties in terms of facilities and operating budget, are unable to mobilize social resources for association activities, have low operational efficiency, tend to be "administrative", and have limited ability to attract members.

Concluding the meeting, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai gave the following comments:

Members of mass organizations are an important resource of the country. It is necessary to focus on awakening and promoting the potential of that resource for national construction and development in the coming time. Mass organizations need to actively participate with the entire political system in making efforts to successfully complete the tasks of 2023; participate in resolving difficulties and obstacles in all fields, especially those related to the activities of the association; participate in contributing to building and rectifying the Party and building the political system; protect national sovereignty; effectively implement the Party's foreign policy; monitor and closely grasp the situation of the masses and members, especially in areas with complex and sensitive issues to have timely, appropriate and effective solutions.

The Association needs to continue to promote its advantages and strengths, find solutions to overcome limitations and shortcomings, and improve the quality of its activities to meet the requirements of the new situation. Thoroughly grasp the Party's policies in conjunction with the Association's fields of operation and tasks, and at the same time concretize them for effective implementation. Focus on innovating the content and methods of operation in a practical direction, closely connecting and coordinating with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations; step up propaganda and mobilization, create consensus, create the strength of the masses, and strengthen the people's trust in the Party; select prestigious, enthusiastic, dedicated, and responsible people to do association work. Continue to effectively implement Regulation 97 of the Politburo on the functions, tasks, powers, organizational structure, and working relationships of the Party delegation and Party executive committee at the Central level.

The Central Party Committees, Party Executive Committees of the Ministries of Home Affairs, Finance, relevant agencies and associations continue to institutionalize and concretize the Party's policies on mass association work; promptly amend Decree 45 of the Government on the organization, operation and management of associations; propose appropriate mechanisms, policies and finances, creating conditions for associations to promote their potential and strengths, actively participate and effectively contribute to the implementation of national development goals.

Regarding some recommendations from the associations, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai assigned the Central Party Office to forward them to relevant agencies for consideration, guidance, and coordination in handling according to authority and regulations.
