The Provincial Military Command recreated the siren signaling the complete liberation of Hai Duong City, helping people feel the sound of victory.
Listen to the siren sound recreating the moment Hai Duong city was completely liberated:
On the morning of October 30, Hai Duong City coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to reenact the siren signaling the liberation of Hai Duong City exactly 70 years ago.
This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 220th anniversary of the founding of Thanh Dong (1804-2024), the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hai Duong city (October 30, 1954 - October 30, 2024).
At 8:17 a.m. on October 30, 1954, when the last soldier stepped off Phu Luong bridge, a siren sounded on the roof of Hoa Binh cinema, signaling the complete liberation of Hai Duong town.
Reenacting the victory whistle helps the city's people, especially the young generation, understand and feel the moment the city was officially cleared of enemies.
According to the History of Hai Duong City Party Committee, at 5:00 a.m. on October 30, 1954, Regiment 42 and a provincial battalion of cadres and employees entered Hai Duong town along Highway 5 and Highway 17. At exactly 6:30 a.m. on the same day, our troops entered along Highway 17 to receive the handover at guard stations and offices. At 8:17 a.m. on October 30, 1954, the last soldier stepped off Phu Luong Bridge.
In the afternoon of the same day, our soldiers, wearing uniforms and guns, solemnly marched to Bao Dai flower garden (now Independence Square) to hold a rally to celebrate the complete liberation of Hai Duong town.
