The laptop market is quite quiet. Since the beginning of April, many computer chains and dealers in Hanoi have simultaneously reduced prices to stimulate consumer demand.
For example, FPT Shop is holding a 10-30% discount program for laptop products. Specifically, Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3 14ITL6 is reduced by 1.4 million VND, from 14.89 million VND to 13.49 million VND/unit; Dell Latitude L3420CTO is reduced from 15.9 million VND to 14.3 million VND/unit (a reduction of 1.6 million VND); Dell Inspiron N3501 is reduced from 14.4 million VND to 12.3 million VND/unit (a reduction of 2.1 million VND). Some other laptop models are even reduced by up to 4 million VND/unit.

Explaining the reason for the sharp price drop of laptop products, representatives of the sales chains said that the current supply of this product is quite abundant, meeting the shopping needs of customers. Along with that, purchasing power is not increasing as rapidly as before.
“Normally, the second quarter is the low season for laptop purchases, so sales will decrease by about 20-25%. In addition, the abundant supply from the last quarter of the previous year's goods plan means that many product lines are at good prices to attract consumers,” said Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, representative of CellphoneS.
However, store representatives all believe that the market will grow in the coming time thanks to the demand for laptops for students.
