According to the provincial Center for Disease Control, in the first week of November (from November 1-7), Hai Duong recorded a total of 143 new cases of dengue fever, an increase of 54 cases compared to the same period in October.
During the above period, the whole province had 4 new dengue fever outbreaks, only 1 less than the same period last month.
These statistics show that the dengue fever epidemic in Hai Duong is still spreading and has not shown any signs of slowing down since the beginning of September. Experts say that only when there are prolonged cold spells will the epidemic gradually subside because mosquitoes limit their range of activity. However, according to the Hai Duong Hydrometeorological Station, this year's severe cold spells are likely to occur later and less frequently than the average of many years, concentrated from the end of December 2023 and January 2024.
From January 1 to November 7, Hai Duong recorded 1,171 cases of dengue fever, an increase of 644 cases compared to the same period in 2022; there are currently 22 active outbreaks.
