According to a report from the provincial Center for Disease Control, on October 30, Hai Duong had two new outbreaks of dengue fever in Ninh Giang and Thanh Ha districts.
Previously, on October 29, the province also had 2 new outbreaks in Tan Binh and Pham Ngu Lao wards (Hai Duong city).
In the past week (from October 24 to 30), Hai Duong recorded 161 cases of dengue fever and 11 outbreaks, compared to the previous week (from October 17 to 23), a decrease of 2 cases and an increase of 5 outbreaks. Most of the new cases have domestic epidemiological factors. This epidemic has not shown signs of cooling down as predicted by experts, and it is likely that it will continue to spread and new outbreaks will appear in early November.
This year, the dengue fever epidemic in Hai Duong appeared earlier than every year, starting in January with scattered cases. From mid-September until now, the epidemic has spread rapidly, with more cases appearing than in the previous period.
From January 1 to October 30, the total number of dengue fever cases in Hai Duong was 1,028 cases, an increase of 523 cases compared to the same period in 2022; there are currently 22 active outbreaks.
