The current weather is still favorable for mosquitoes to breed and develop. Therefore, the dengue epidemic may only stop spreading when cold spells appear.

Contrary to experts' predictions, at the end of October and the beginning of November this year, the dengue fever epidemic in Hai Duong was still spreading, showing no signs of cooling down.

Dr. Hoang Van Huynh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control, said that the reason is that this year's cold spell came later than last year, and the warm weather like the current period still creates favorable conditions for mosquitoes to breed and develop. Only when cold spells appear consecutively will the activities and reproduction of mosquitoes be limited, then the dengue fever epidemic will gradually subside. Although the number of outbreaks and new patients continues to appear, Hai Duong is still controlling this epidemic well. However, the epidemic always has the potential for surprises, so people should not be subjective but need to actively prevent dengue fever according to the recommendations of the health sector.

Since mid-September, the dengue fever epidemic in Hai Duong has entered its peak period of spread. In October alone, the province has seen dozens of outbreaks, with nearly 600 cases of dengue fever, accounting for more than 50% of the total number of cases since the beginning of the year. For the past week, the province has had dozens of new cases every day. Dozens of patients are still being treated at medical facilities.
