It is expected that at the end of September, the Hanoi People's Court will bring the case of the dismembered runner-up stuffed in a styrofoam box to trial. The perpetrator, Ta Duy Khanh (born in 1985), is being prosecuted for murder and robbery.
Investigation documents show that Ta Duy Khanh is acquainted with Ms. HYN (17 years old, in Hanoi). On October 10, 2023, Khanh took Ms. N. to his house in Da Ton commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi. When entering the living room, the two had a conflict.
Khanh used a sharp knife to stab the victim in the chest many times, then dismembered the body, put it in a styrofoam box and disposed of it in the Red River area in Bat Trang commune, Gia Lam, Hanoi.
At around 11:00 p.m. on October 14, 2023, Hanoi police arrested Ta Duy Khanh while he was hiding at his home in Thai Binh. During the arrest, Khanh used a knife to commit suicide but failed.
During the investigation, the defendant stated that the conflict between Ms. N. and him arose from the fact that, around mid-2022, Khanh lent Ms. N. 60 million VND and asked for it many times but Ms. N. did not pay.
As for the taxi driver who was asked by Khanh to help carry the styrofoam box containing Ms. N's body, the investigation documents show that this person did not know that Khanh brought the styrofoam box into the Red River to dispose of the victim's body. Therefore, the Investigation Agency did not consider prosecuting the taxi driver.
The prosecution documents state that the defendant committed a crime with many framing circumstances such as committing the crime in a barbaric, hooligan manner, and immediately afterwards committing a very serious crime or an especially serious crime...
