Picking up scrap metal on the beach, discovered 1,500 drug pills

While collecting scrap metal along the coast of Quang Ngai, Mr. Hung discovered a plastic bag containing 1,500 white tablets. He suspected they were drugs, so he reported it to the border guard station.

Binh Thanh Border Guard Station (Border Guard of Quang Ngai province) has just coordinated with functional forces to collect a large amount of tablets suspected to be drugs.

At around 8:00 a.m. on November 23, while walking along the beach to collect scrap metal, Mr. Nguyen Tan Hung (52 years old, residing in Le Thuy village, Binh Tri commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) discovered a plastic bag drifting ashore, inside were many round, white tablets. Suspecting that this was narcotics, Mr. Hung quickly reported it to Binh Thanh Border Guard Station.

Immediately upon receiving the report, Binh Thanh Border Guard Station coordinated with Binh Tri Commune Police, Customs Control Team - Quang Ngai Customs Department to collect and temporarily detain the suspected drug object.

At the scene, the authorities found a nylon bag containing about 1,500 white tablets, measuring 0.3x0.8cm. Using a rapid test, the white crystalline substance tested positive for MDMA and THC.

Binh Thanh Border Guard Station is conducting procedures to request appraisal, investigate and verify the origin, and at the same time organize patrol forces to collect drug sources that may continue to drift ashore in localities managed by the unit.
