On the National Day of Mourning, July 26, from dawn there was a long line of people lining up at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong (Hanoi).According to the announcement of the security forces at the National Funeral Home, from 7am on the same day, people will be allowed to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. The security force noted that people coming to pay their respects need to wear appropriate clothing, not bring handbags, wreaths, etc.Ms. Vu Thi Thanh (Bach Dang, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi) was one of the first people in line to pay their respects to the General Secretary. Ms. Thanh said that she had been in line until midnight and had not yet had her turn, so she arrived at the National Funeral Home at 2 a.m.Ms. Do Tuyet Minh (61 years old) from Vung Tau and her husband booked an urgent flight from 8 pm on July 25 to Hanoi. Ms. Minh said that she came to pay her respects at 12 am but there were too many people so at 3 am the couple was waiting to pay their respects to the General Secretary. "Since the day I learned that the General Secretary passed away, I have been crying. My whole family is very grateful and admires the General Secretary, the things he did made us feel very emotional. My husband and I will stay until the funeral to see him off on his final journey."Among the people lining up on Tran Hung Dao Street was Mr. Nguyen Van Que from Me Linh, Hanoi. Mr. Que said he had been there since 3 a.m., but many people had already lined up. "As a citizen and a veteran, I am very impressed by the General Secretary's dedication to the people and the country.
