Some comments asked about the price of buying wild birds; others expressed their displeasure at the advertisement for selling wild birds.

On the Facebook group CHO DONG, an account named BBB posted on the morning of October 11, "Anyone who wants to eat wild snipe, call me, clean, delicious", along with pictures of some live birds, plucked and a contact phone number.

In some comments, the BBB account listed the price of snipes at 50,000 VND/bird and herons at 140,000 VND/bird. On the contrary, there were comments advising against eating wild animals and prohibiting the advertising of wild birds.

According to Clause 4, Article 1 of Decree 84/2021/ND-CP dated September 22, 2021 of the Government, wild animals and wild plants are animals and plants that live and develop in natural or artificial habitats or animals and plants that are raised or grown in a controlled environment but are not livestock according to the provisions of the law on animal husbandry.

According to Circular 01/2018/TT-BNNPTNT dated January 16, 2018 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, only pigeons and quails are allowed as pets.

According to the provisions of Articles 21, 22 and 23 of Decree 35/2019/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree 07/2022/ND-CP), any act of illegal hunting, trading and transporting of wild birds (not endangered, precious or rare species) can be subject to administrative fines of up to 300 million VND (for individuals).
