Nguyen Do Quang Minh is a student of class 9/1, Nguyen Khuyen Secondary and High School, Cam Le district, Da Nang.

Quang Minh is currently a 9th grade student at Nguyen Khuyen Secondary and High School, Cam Le District, Da Nang City.

With the topic "write a letter to future generations about the world you hope they will inherit", Minh chose to transform into 72-year-old Pulattie, whose task is to read and reply to letters from children around the world in the role of Santa Claus.

Set in Christmas 2023, the character Pullattie writes a letter to the Director General of the UPU in 2174, sharing her feelings about children lacking love and needing a place to confide.

"They long to share their heartfelt words with someone who will listen and give them love. And that person can only be Santa Claus!", excerpt from the letter.

So Pullatie hopes that in 150 years, when email and other means of communication are used, "all post offices in the world will still have free mailboxes for children", so that children can continue to send letters to Santa Claus and "so that people who love children learn how to bring happiness to children".

With this result, Minh will receive a prize of 5 million VND, a certificate, and a Creative Youth badge. His letter will also be translated into French and sent to the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in Switzerland for the international round.

The UPU International Letter Writing Competition has been organized by the Universal Postal Union since 1971 for students aged 10-15 around the world, aiming to help them better understand the postal industry, improve their writing skills and literary appreciation through handwritten letters and express their views and wishes on issues of social and international concern. Each year, the competition has a different topic with more than 60 countries participating.

In Vietnam, this is the 36th time the contest has been launched, taking place from January to March with more than 1.5 million letters from students nationwide. In addition to Quang Minh's first prize, the organizing committee also awarded 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes, 30 consolation prizes, 61 promising writer prizes and 12 prizes for students with disabilities.
