UPU International Letter Writing Competition to future generations about the world you hope they will inherit

The 53rd UPU International Letter Writing Competition 2024 aims to develop children's writing skills. Help them become aware of social issues and express their thoughts on these issues.

The organizer of the contest is Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Education and Training, Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Writers Association, Vietnam Post Corporation, Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper.

This year's contest theme is:Over the past 150 years, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) has served more than eight generations of people around the world. The world has changed a lot since then. Write a letter to future generations to tell them about the world you hope they will inherit.

The theme of this contest is associated with the 150th anniversary of the founding of the UPU (1874-2024).

Contestants are Vietnamese students from 9-15 years old.(as of the time of submission of the contest entry).

The letter is a creative product of the individual student, written in prose form on the theme of the contest (not yet published in a newspaper or book), no longer than 800 words.

Entries written in a foreign language must be accompanied by a Vietnamese translation. The jury will judge according to the Vietnamese version.

The entry letter must be clearly and neatly written by hand on one side of the paper (do not write on the back, you can write on multiple pages, number the pages, and staple them to avoid confusion). Typed or photocopied entries are not valid.

In the upper left corner of the entry letter, the following information must be included: Full name, date of birth, ethnicity, school address, class, district (town), province (city), and phone number. Entries that do not include all of the above information will be disqualified.

In the content of the contest letter, students should not specifically state their name, school, or address to avoid revealing personal information.

Each entry must be placed in a postage stamped envelope, clearly stating the sender's address, recipient's address and postal code (11611) and sent via the Vietnam Post office system. The envelope must clearly state: Entry letter for the 53rd UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2024).

Place to receive the exam: Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper, No. 5, Hoa Ma Street, Pham Dinh Ho Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi City - 11611.Time for receiving entries: from January 5 - March 15, 2024 (according to postmark).
