The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department coordinated with the Hanoi Customs Department to learn of a drug ring packaged in packages imported from Europe to Noi Bai International Airport and planned to destroy it.
On July 30, according to news from Hanoi City Police, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the City Police is coordinating with relevant units to continue to expand the investigation and handle subjects related to the synthetic drug trafficking ring from Europe to Vietnam for consumption.
Previously, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department coordinated with the City Customs Department to learn of a drug ring packaged in packages imported from Europe to Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) and planned to destroy it.
On July 8, during the inspection of a shipment contained in a pallet from the Federal Republic of Germany to Noi Bai International Airport, the authorities determined that there was a package weighing a total of 240kg, containing 15 packages, 1 foam box containing baby formula, and 14 cardboard boxes containing ceramic candle boxes, all of which contained drugs.
A day later, when Nguyen Van Duc (born in 1994 in Vinh Tuong district, Vinh Phuc province) came to receive the goods, the authorities asked him to open them for inspection. As a result, the authorities discovered synthetic drugs (MDMA) hidden in ceramic candle cups; the weight was 34kg.
Initially, Nguyen Van Duc confessed to his crime. The city police issued an emergency arrest warrant for Duc for illegal drug trafficking.
