Special talk on people's diplomacy

On the morning of December 20, comrade Dong Huy Cuong, Director of the Institute for International Studies and People's Foreign Affairs, Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, gave a talk on people's foreign affairs in the context of the current world situation in Hai Duong.

Attending the talk were comrade Nguyen Duc Tuan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, and representatives of a number of departments, branches, leaders and members of member organizations.

The officials and members were informed by Comrade Dong Huy Cuong about the world and regional situation, including the complicated developments in relations between major countries; the Party and State's policies and guidelines on foreign affairs and people's diplomacy; the role, position and tasks of people's diplomacy in the new situation.

Comrade Dong Huy Cuong emphasized that the core task of foreign affairs is to create and maintain a peaceful and stable environment; mobilize external resources to develop the country; and enhance the country's position and prestige.

The talk helped cadres and members understand the foreign policy of the Party and State, thereby actively and creatively applying it in people-to-people diplomacy, contributing to the implementation of socio-economic development goals in the locality.
