Lenovo introduced the laptop with a transparent screen at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain on February 26. This is the world's largest mobile industry trade show. The technology is similar to augmented reality in some ways, and it is one of the company's most unusual devices.

The concept computer, called ThinkBook Transparent Display, is meant to demonstrate the feasibility of transparent display technology and is not intended for commercial production.

The laptop comes with a touchpad and a stylus for drawing or navigating.

While introducing some of the features of the transparent laptop, a Lenovo representative placed a sunflower behind the screen.

The laptop's built-in camera can identify the object as a sunflower, then provide information about it using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

The technology is similar to augmented reality (AR) in some ways, which has become more popular thanks to tech glasses or headsets like Apple's Vision Pro.

With this technology, digital content is displayed overlaid on the real world that the user sees in front of them.

Another use is in construction. For example, if an architect is designing the exterior of a house, they can see the house on a screen and use a stylus to draw their design to visualize what the house will look like in real life.

Since this laptop is just a concept product, Lenovo has no plans to sell the device and there is no specific official release date yet.

Lenovo has a history of introducing concept devices to demonstrate its ability to innovate. In 2023 at MWC, Lenovo showed off a phone with a rollable display.
