Timely detection and destruction of nearly 800 kg of dead pigs and sick pigs in Thai Nguyen

At around 12:40 on September 23, on National Highway 3, through Hamlet 7, Son Cam Commune (Thai Nguyen City), the Mobile Interdisciplinary Inspection Team of Thai Nguyen Province discovered a car with license plate 29C-171.96 driven by DVS (residing in Phu Binh District, Thai Nguyen Province) traveling from Phu Luong District to Thai Nguyen City transporting 14 dead pigs with a foul odor and 12 pigs showing signs of lethargy, difficulty breathing, difficulty moving, suspected of having a dangerous infectious disease. The total weight of the pigs was about 800 kg.

According to the driver's declaration, the pigs were purchased from traders with unknown addresses in Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province with the purpose of transporting them to Phu Binh district for consumption and profit.

At the time of inspection, the vehicle owner could not present an animal quarantine certificate, and the transportation process did not ensure veterinary hygiene and food safety conditions.

This act violates the provisions of Clause 5, Article 20 of Decree 90/2017/ND-CP of the Government regulating administrative sanctions for violations in the veterinary field (amended and supplemented in Decree No. 04/ND-CP and Decree No. 07/ND-CP of the Government).

With the above violations, the Inspection Team has drawn up a working record and a record of administrative violations in the veterinary field. The veterinary force also took samples for testing according to regulations. The vehicle owner admitted his violations and voluntarily destroyed all the pigs.

Under the supervision of authorities and local governments, all of the pigs were destroyed and sprayed with disinfectant.
