Hai Duong destroys more than 1,800 kg of pork fat and chicken bones of unknown origin

During this year's Food Safety Action Month, provincial authorities coordinated to detect and destroy 10,000 ducks, 800 kg of pork fat and 1,010 kg of chicken bones of unknown origin.

During the Food Safety Action Month this year, the Drug - Cosmetic - Food Testing Center of Hai Duong province took many samples of chicken and pork at Hai Tan market (Hai Duong city) for testing.

According to the Provincial Food Safety Steering Committee, 10,000 ducks of unknown origin that must be destroyed belong to the family of Ms. Dao Thi Hao in Tan Huong commune (Ninh Giang); 800 kg of pork fat must be destroyed from Mr. Nguyen Phu Dieu's family (Thanh Ha) and 1,010 kg of chicken bones from Mr. Dinh Nguyen Thieu's family (Kinh Mon).

During the Action Month, the province established 254 inspection teams to inspect 4,708 establishments, detecting 399 establishments violating food safety (accounting for 8.47%).

The inspection teams have drawn up records to handle 51 violating establishments. To date, 47 violating establishments have been fined nearly 118 million VND, 4 violating establishments are awaiting verification for handling. In addition, 348 other establishments have been warned for not fully complying with food hygiene and safety regulations.

During the inspection, the teams took 53 food samples to test for microbiological and physicochemical indicators. The results showed that 4/26 samples did not meet the physicochemical indicators, 1/27 samples did not meet the microbiological indicators. 411 samples were quickly tested for borax, formalin, starch, inorganic acid, colorants, etc. The results showed that 19 samples did not meet the requirements.

During this year's Action Month, Hai Duong did not have any mass food poisoning cases.
