Prosecution of the case of "rebellious son" who murdered his biological father in Hanoi

On the afternoon of June 27, a leader of the Quoc Oai District Police (Hanoi) said that they had initiated a "Murder" case that occurred in Da Phuc village, Sai Son commune, involving suspect Tran Khanh Ha (born in 1983).

According to the leader of the Quoc Oai District Police, the police agency determined that the initial cause of the case was due to conflicts between the suspect and his father and brother. These were small conflicts in daily life, for example, when suspect Ha bought a bicycle for his son, his father said, "The old bike can still be used, why buy a new one..." leading to scolding each other.

The leader of Quoc Oai District Police emphasized that the murder did not occur due to a land dispute, but only due to a conflict that erupted in daily life between father and son, or brothers.

Previously, at around 9:45 p.m. on June 25, Tran Khanh Ha used a machete to slash and injure his father, Tran Huy L. (born in 1953), and his brother, Tran Manh H. (born in 1978). As a result, Mr. L. and Mr. H. were seriously injured and had to be taken to the emergency room, but Mr. L. died.

After slashing his father and brother, suspect Ha barricaded himself in the house. Quoc Oai District Police coordinated with professional units of Hanoi City Police to arrest the suspect. Through a quick test, suspect Ha tested negative for drugs.
