Mentally ill son used iron rod to kill his biological parents in Hung Yen

On June 8, Hung Yen Provincial Police announced the initial results of the "Murder" case that occurred in the early morning of the same day, in Dong My village, Ly Thuong Kiet commune, Yen My district, causing 2 deaths.

Specifically, at around 5:30 a.m. on June 8, Nguyen Dinh Quynh (born in 1975, residing in Dong My village, Ly Thuong Kiet commune, Yen My district, Hung Yen province) went to the house of his parents, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Ngu and Ms. Hoang Thi Net (both born in 1939), right behind Quynh's house.

The subject used an iron rod as a weapon to beat Mr. Ngu and Mrs. Net to death.

Immediately afterwards, Yen My District Police coordinated with Ly Thuong Kiet Commune Police to control and arrest the subject.

After receiving the report, the leaders of Hung Yen Provincial Police directed the Criminal Police Department, the Criminal Technique Department, Yen My District Police to coordinate with the Hung Yen Provincial People's Procuracy and Yen My District People's Procuracy to conduct a crime scene investigation and autopsy.

Nguyen Dinh Quynh has been a mentally ill person since 2013. In January 2024, Quynh received psychiatric treatment at Hung Yen Psychiatric Hospital and is on the local list of mentally ill people at risk of committing crimes.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Hung Yen Provincial Police is continuing to investigate and handle the case according to the law.
