On February 23, Duc Minh Seed Trade Development Company Limited (Hai Duong) and Pepsico Vietnam Food Company Limited (Binh Duong) jointly announced the success of the "FL2215 potato cultivation model on alluvial soil along the river".
From November 2023 to February 2024, the two enterprises have coordinated to build a FL2215 potato cultivation model on alluvial soil along the river in the three districts of Nam Sach, Cam Giang and Ninh Giang. Specifically, in Mac Binh village, Thai Tan commune (Nam Sach), there are 5 households participating with an area of 10,800 m2; in Hong Phong commune (Ninh Giang), there is a household planting 7,200 m2; in Cam Van commune (Cam Giang), there is 1 household planting 5,400 m2.
FL2215 potato variety is imported from Pepsico Global Group, has been recognized in the Southern region since April 2016, in the North since July 2023. This is a heat-resistant variety, can be planted early in winter conditions in Hai Duong province. FL2215 variety has high yield, averaging 20-35 tons/ha, if cultivated and cared for well, can reach 45 tons/ha.
Hai Duong currently has 746 hectares of potatoes, mostly grown in fields in Thanh Mien, Tu Ky, Kim Thanh districts... with an average yield of only about 14.46 tons/ha.
