"With the goodwill of all parties, Vietnam Television has resumed the signals of VTV channels on television services, helping viewers continue to enjoy quality programs on VTV channels, especially during the upcoming Lunar New Year," the announcement was posted on VTV Times on the evening of January 22.

From around 19:30, channels VTV2 and VTV3 will return on TV360 and MyTV platforms respectively.

This is the result of a long period of negotiation between VTV and a number of television platforms in Vietnam. Previously, on January 16, two channels VTV2 and VTV3 suddenly disappeared from a number of platforms such as FPT Play, TV360, and MyTV. The reason given by all three platforms was that "an agreement with Vietnam Television has not been reached yet".

On January 19, VTV posted information stating that "the copyright fees that units are paying to VTV do not reflect the true value that VTV's content brings."

Since the end of November 2024, the unit has started working and discussing with pay TV service providers on a new cooperation model, aiming to "ensure harmony between content value, VTV's investment costs and the interests of audiences and businesses". However, some units have not yet reached an agreement, causing VTV "to not have the necessary legal basis to maintain signal provision for the entire channel package".

They then said they would continue negotiating with relevant units under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Information and Communications on the afternoon of January 20. However, according to the announcement, the negotiations have not yet reached a final result.

"Vietnam Television and other units will continue to discuss and negotiate to reach final agreements as soon as possible," the announcement said.

In addition to digital TV platforms, users can watch VTV channels via the VTVgo application or the DVB-T2 digital terrestrial TV system.

Recently, the number of TV channels on digital platforms has been decreasing. On January 15, 13 VTC TV channels also disappeared after VTC Digital Television stopped broadcasting, along with Nhan Dan Television, Thong Tan Television, and National Assembly Television.
