iPhone 16 Pro will have a particularly big battery upgrade

As the launch date approaches, more and more leaks about the iPhone 16 series are pouring in. Among the many pieces of information about design, configuration or AI, a new report cited by Forbes points out that an important upgrade will give the iPhone 16 Pro a big advantage over its predecessor, directly related to battery capacity.

According to Techradar, this battery upgrade comes with a design change because both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have larger screens. Thanks to the increased screen size and the phone in general, the battery will also be larger and therefore have a higher capacity. However, Techradar also reminds that this new battery will still need to be "charged overnight for the majority of the time".

More specifically, according to leaker Instant Digital on Weibo, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 5.74% larger battery than the 15 Pro Max, while the iPhone 16 Pro will have a much more significant increase of 9.25% compared to the current model. The iPhone 16 Pro battery will have a capacity of 3,577 mAh, compared to the current iPhone 15 Pro's 3,274 mAh. Such a significant increase in battery capacity is expected to help the device run new AI features without worrying about losing battery life.

This leak lines up with previous reports of battery size changes on the new iPhones, but there is one side note that could make the iPhone 16 Plus a little less competitive: a reduction in battery capacity.

It's worth noting that the iPhone Plus line from the iPhone 14 Plus has been a top choice for those who prioritize battery capacity, so this strategy will probably make it a less attractive choice than the Pro line.

Additionally, MacRumors cites several other reports that with better battery life, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be able to last 30 hours on a single charge, 1 hour longer than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
