Accordingly, in the 2023-2024 school year, depending on the level of study and place of residence, students will receive tuition support from 100,000 VND to 300,000 VND/month.
Specifically, at the preschool level, the nursery group has a support level of 100,000 VND/student/month; preschool children are supported with 140,000 VND/month for all children residing in group 1. Preschool children in group 2 will not be supported.
Secondary school students in group 1 will receive support of 300,000 VND/month; secondary school students in group 2 will receive support of 100,000 VND/month. This support level is applied similarly to students at secondary school continuing education centers.
High school students and continuing high school students in group 1 are supported with 180,000 VND/month and high school students and continuing high school students in group 2 are supported with 100,000 VND/month.
Group 1 includes Thu Duc City and districts; Group 2 includes Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Nha Be and Can Gio districts.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the total implementation cost is 1,847 billion VND. Of which, the cost to exempt and reduce tuition fees for secondary school students is 1,108 billion VND (public 1,042 billion VND and non-public 66 billion VND). The application period is 9 months of the 2023-2024 school year.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, from the 2021-2022 school year to the 2022-2023 school year, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has issued specific policies of the City to support tuition fees for all levels of education, in accordance with the people's wishes, creating peace of mind and motivation for parents and people of the city.
In 2023, the City's economy is gradually stabilizing and recovering, but people's economic lives are still facing many difficulties. Therefore, a special policy to support tuition fees is still a necessary requirement for the 2023-2024 school year to ensure social security, share difficulties, and reduce the financial burden on parents, students and people of the City.
