According to VnExpress October 2, 2023 17:00

Students from kindergarten to public high school, depending on the area, are exempted from tuition fees for the first semester or the entire school year, to reduce difficulties for the people.

On the morning of October 2, the People's Council of Quang Binh province passed a resolution on exempting tuition fees for the 2023-2024 school year.

Students in ethnic minority areas, border areas, mountainous areas, and especially disadvantaged communes in coastal areas are exempted from tuition fees for the entire year. In the remaining areas, students are exempted from tuition fees for the first semester. Public preschools and general education institutions, and continuing education institutions that reduce tuition fees are supported by the State budget.

The Provincial People's Council assessed that although the epidemic has passed, it has greatly affected the socio-economic development situation, the material and spiritual life of teachers, students and parents. Therefore, exempting tuition fees helps people reduce difficulties.

This is the second consecutive year that Quang Binh has exempted tuition fees for students. This school year, the province has 233,500 students at all levels, with tuition fees ranging from VND80,000 to VND370,000 per month.

Over the past two years, to reduce people's difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, all localities have exempted or reduced tuition fees for preschool children and primary school students by 50-100%.

This year, many localities have stopped this policy, except for Da Nang, Hai Phong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ha Nam. According to Decree 81 of the Government, the ceiling tuition fee for preschool and general education in urban areas ranges from 300,000 to 650,000 VND; in rural areas, 100,000 to 330,000 VND; in mountainous and ethnic minority areas, from 50,000 to 220,000 VND per month. Compared to the previous year (2015), the above levels have increased 2-5 times.
