From 2020 to 2023, Hai Phong has allocated more than 10,132 billion VND of public investment capital for localities registering to build model new rural communes.
The general goal that Hai Phong has set out in the process of building a new model rural area is to focus on improving the material and spiritual life of rural people, building a synchronous and modern rural socio-economic infrastructure, associated with the urbanization process. At the same time, promote digital transformation, apply information technology, and build smart new rural areas. Continue to effectively restructure the agricultural sector, develop the agricultural and rural economy towards ecological agriculture, circular economy, adapt to climate change and sustainable development. Ensure a bright, green, clean, beautiful and safe rural environment and landscape. Rural life is rich in traditional cultural identity, making the countryside a livable place.
Regarding the process of implementing new rural construction in Hai Phong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho said that the implementation of the city's new rural construction program is currently on the right track. Hai Phong is considered one of the leading localities nationwide in mobilizing resources to build new rural areas.
In the city’s economic and social development orientation, new rural construction is identified as the top priority goal, requiring focused leadership, direction and prioritization of resources. This is demonstrated through the implementation of the city’s annual theme in consecutive years, which has included the element “Building a model new rural area”.
Hai Phong strives to have 50 more communes meeting the standards of advanced new rural communes by 2024, 35 communes meeting the standards of model new rural communes; by the end of 2025, 100% of communes (137) will meet the standards of model new rural communes.
