Hai Duong launches Humanitarian Month 2024

Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung acknowledged that over the past 5 years, the Hai Duong Provincial Red Cross Society has implemented the Humanitarian Month with many practical results, contributing to raising social awareness, arousing, promoting and spreading the spirit of "mutual love" among all classes of people.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that this year's Humanitarian Month is being implemented on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. The Red Cross at all levels in the province needs to organize many meaningful activities to commemorate and express gratitude for the great contributions of generations of cadres, soldiers and people in the long and arduous resistance war against French colonialism. At the same time, actively organize activities to share and spread the spirit of humanity in the community. Thereby, contributing to arousing and promoting patriotism, the strength of great solidarity, the will to be self-reliant, promoting good cultural values ​​to successfully implement the Resolution of the Congress of the Party Committees at all levels, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of Hai Duong.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Red Cross Society to continue to innovate its content and methods of operation, build a strong organization, and meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation. Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to thoroughly grasp and implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on the activities of the Red Cross Society and humanitarian work. Support and create conditions for the Red Cross Society at all levels to perform its functions and tasks well.

Agencies, organizations, businesses, philanthropists and people from all walks of life continue to support and accompany the Provincial Red Cross Society, participate in helping the poor, people in difficult circumstances and in distress, contributing to building a united, compassionate, progressive and civilized society.

At the program, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Hai Duong province, presented a symbol of support to Ms. Le Thi Thuan's family in Tai Son commune (Tu Ky) with 50 million VND to build a house. The Provincial Red Cross Society presented 20 bicycles to 20 disadvantaged students in Gia Loc district.

On this occasion, dozens of agencies, units, businesses, philanthropists... symbolically donated to support Humanitarian Month 2024.

At the launching ceremony, the leader of the provincial Red Cross Society said that as of May 10, dozens of agencies, units, businesses, philanthropists... had participated in donating about 2.6 billion VND in response to this year's Humanitarian Month.

On the same morning, the Hai Duong Provincial Red Cross organized a voluntary blood donation festival in response to the Humanitarian Month 2024. The festival attracted over 200 people to register and collected 164 units of blood.
