Hai Duong proposes investment in Thanh Long Lake eco-tourism area

On the afternoon of January 15, Comrade Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province chaired the January meeting of the Provincial People's Committee (2nd time) to review and discuss a number of contents and reports reported by the Departments of Planning and Investment, Transport, Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Inspectorate and Hai Duong City People's Committee.

Regarding the proposal to invest in the construction of Thanh Long Lake eco-tourism area, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung requested the Department of Planning and Investment to collect the opinions of delegates at the meeting to adjust and complete the proposed report. In which, clarify the reasons and necessity of investing in the project. The Provincial People's Committee will submit to the Prime Minister to assign the province to develop a master plan for the project, propose component projects; at the same time propose policies and implementation mechanisms.

According to the Department of Planning and Investment, Thanh Long Lake is located in the center of the Con Son-Kiep Bac relic site. Previously, this area was the place where warships were gathered, the navy was trained by Saint Tran, and the logistics base of the Van Kiep headquarters. Currently, the lake belongs to the communes of Hung Dao, Le Loi (Chi Linh) and part of Dan Hoi commune, Luc Nam district (Bac Giang). The lake area is a wasteland, part of the area for single-crop rice cultivation is unstable, the natural aquatic resources are contracted by the government to the people. The relic system here has seriously degraded, has not been restored or embellished for many years, the natural landscape has not been planned, so exploitation is not effective.

Therefore, investment in the construction of Thanh Long Lake eco-tourism area is very necessary to restore historical relics, rituals, craft villages, cultural values, etc. to enrich the value of the Con Son-Kiep Bac relic complex.

Thanh Long Lake Eco-tourism Area has been identified in the planning of Hai Duong province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; the general planning of Chi Linh city; the master plan for the conservation of the historical and cultural relic site of Con Son-Kiep Bac and is included in the list of investment attraction projects in the province for the period 2024-2030.

At the meeting, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province also agreed to propose the Prime Minister to assign the Provincial People's Committee to implement the investment project to upgrade and renovate National Highway 37 from National Highway 18 to An Linh intersection.
