The first high-speed ferry from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao will run from March 29, with ticket prices ranging from VND720,000 to VND1,370,000, depending on the group of passengers and seat type.
This is the fare plan announced by Thanh Thanh Phat Passenger Transport Company Limited (the operator) after this high-speed train route was approved for operation by the management agency.
The route runs from Saigon Port, District 4, to Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) and vice versa. The ship operating on the route is a 374-seat type, including 280 sleeper beds and 94 seats.
Train fares are offered by the above company depending on seat type and customer group. The lowest price for weekday seat tickets (Monday to Thursday) is 720,000 - 990,000 VND; sleeper tickets are 800,000 - 1,250,000 VND. On weekends (Friday to Sunday), seat tickets are 790,000 - 1,090,000 VND and sleepers are 880,000 - 1,370,000 VND.
According to the plan, the first high-speed boat will depart at 7:00 on March 29 from Saigon port, the journey to Con Dao will take about 5 hours and 30 minutes. It is expected that there will be one trip every day from the city to Con Dao, and the next day there will be a trip in the opposite direction. To prepare for operation, the company has brought the boat to Ho Chi Minh City and is completing the final procedures to ensure operation.
With the above high-speed boat operation, there will be 2 shipping companies from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao. The first route departs from Hiep Phuoc port, Nha Be district, and is currently temporarily suspended due to complaints from customers that the wharf is far from the city center, making it difficult to transfer, and the shipping company has adjusted its business schedule during the low tourist season.
Currently, if not traveling by water, people from Ho Chi Minh City can only travel by air, or take a car to Vung Tau City and then take a boat to Con Dao.
