200-year-old Kapok tree in Bac Giang blooms brilliantly

Locals and tourists have to wait in line to get their turn to get the desired photos at the cotton tree next to Ba Co temple (Bac Giang).

Every March, the kapok tree next to Ba Co temple in Tan My village, Lang Son commune (Bac Giang city) attracts tourists to come and admire and take pictures.

The kapok tree has been confirmed by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment as an ancient tree, 27.5 m high, over 200 years old. The tree is green, with lush branches and leaves. The tree has 2 large, strong trunks. The first trunk has a circumference of about 3.1 m, the second trunk has a circumference of 3.4 m.

Every year in the third lunar month, the tree blooms with many brilliant flowers, attracting many people, especially young people, to visit and take pictures.

Due to the large number of people, to get a good photo angle, locals and tourists have to line up and wait their turn.

In 2021, the kapok tree next to Ba Co temple was recognized by the Vietnam Ornamental Plants Association as an "ancient tree with historical and cultural value".
