In March, Nam Cum village, Dien Bien is 'as beautiful as a fairy tale' when thousands of ancient Ban trees bloom, the pure white flowers cover the hills, attracting tourists to admire.
There are about 1,200 ancient Bauhinia trees here. The households live on a rather steep mountainside, each house is divided into layers clinging to the concrete road that curves between the village like a fish bone.
During a recent 4-day trip to Dien Bien, Ms. Dung (Hanoi) spent time visiting Nam Cum. When entering the village, she felt like "lost in a fairy tale world": white Ban flowers blooming, showing off their colors in the mountains and forests, intertwined with the green of young rice. "The people in the village are still poor, no household has a homestay, but they really respect and protect the ancient Ban trees. That impressed and moved me," Ms. Dung shared.
