Domestic gold prices increased sharply in the opening session this morning, August 13, while the central exchange rate remained stable.
At 8:45 a.m., Doji Company, Phu Quy Company and Saigon Jewelry Company announced the buying price of SJC gold at VND78 million/tael and the selling price at VND80 million/tael, an increase of VND1.5 million/tael compared to the previous closing price. This is also the first adjustment by this brand since August 8.
Similarly, the price of gold rings also increased this morning. Specifically, Phu Quy Company listed the price of 999 round gold rings from 76.6-77.85 million VND/tael, an increase of 250,000 VND/tael. Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company, the price of smooth round gold rings was listed at 76.68-77.88 million VND/tael (buy/sell), an increase of 300,000 VND/tael.
In the world, the price of gold fluctuated around 2,462 USD/ounce, an increase of more than 34 USD/ounce compared to the same time last session. This price when converted is equivalent to 75 million VND/tael.
This morning, the State Bank listed the central exchange rate at 24,256 VND/USD, stable compared to August 12.
With a margin of +/-5%, Vietinbank bought at 24,963 VND/USD and sold at 25,303 VND/USD, up 33 VND compared to the previous close. Agribank announced the buying and selling prices from 24,960 - 25,280 VND/USD, up 20 VND.
However, Vietcombank listed the USD exchange rate from 24,950 - 25,290 VND/USD, remaining stable. BIDV bought and sold from 24,950 - 25,290 VND/USD, down 10 VND.
