According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Kim Thanh district, the production value of the 2023-2024 winter crop of the district will reach 120-150 million VND/ha, an increase of more than 10 million VND/ha compared to the previous winter crop.
Winter crop production value increased due to favorable consumption and good prices. Many early-season vegetable crops such as kohlrabi, cabbage, and leafy vegetables have higher value than last year, especially jicama, which has a good price this year.
The entire Kim Thanh district has nearly 2,270 hectares of winter crops, mainly jicama, watermelon, waxy corn, cabbage, kohlrabi, chili, and spices; an increase of about 70 hectares compared to the 2022-2023 winter crop. Currently, farmers have basically finished harvesting winter vegetables and planted 355 hectares of spring-summer vegetables, reaching 33% of the plan.
