According to Ford Vietnam, on affected vehicles, the windshield adhesive may not meet design standards. This may affect the deployment of the bag, the performance of the passenger airbag, and the durability of the vehicle's roof.

Ford Vietnam has authorized dealers to conduct inspections and use new PU glue to reassemble the windshield to enhance adhesion.

The time required for this new inspection and gluing is less than 4 hours for each vehicle and is completely free of charge, including spare parts and installation costs. Ford Vietnam also said that for Ranger vehicles affected by this program, Ford Vietnam has sent letters to each customer and posted the program content on the company's website at: www.ford.com.vn.

Earlier this July, Ford also announced a similar recall in the US for 24,231 Ranger vehicles manufactured between December 17, 2021 and April 12, 2022. In addition, the company also announced a recall of 43,545 Ranger vehicles globally, manufactured between September 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019 at the Ford plant in South Africa, due to a problem with the rear differential.

According to industry experts, vehicle recalls occur regularly around the world and can be carried out voluntarily by manufacturers or at the request of authorities.

This recall notice is to let customers know that there is a defect in the vehicle that may pose a safety risk or cause inconvenience when using it. The manufacturer will conduct a free inspection, repair and replacement to completely fix the problem.

Proactively detecting technical errors and voluntarily recalling them when there have been no reports of consequences caused by product errors has long been considered a way for manufacturers to demonstrate responsibility in controlling the quality of vehicles sold.
