A spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry announced on April 11 the decision to expel the Chad Ambassador to the country after Chad took similar action against the German Ambassador to Chad.

A German spokesman regretted that Germany had to make the decision to expel Chad's Ambassador, Mariam Ali Moussa, after the Chad Foreign Ministry asked German Ambassador Gordon Kricke to leave the country within 48 hours because he was unwelcome.
According to a German spokesman, Mr. Kricke left Chad on April 8 after the government of President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno accused him of "disrespecting diplomatic practices." Chad government officials did not specify the reason for his expulsion.
